REHOBOTH — June 16, 2014 — Rehoboth selectmen approved a four-way stop, a $34,858 archiving contract, and dozens of board reappointments at the June 16 meeting while urging residents to vote in a July 15 Proposition 2½ override election. The board voted unanimously to install stop signs on both approaches of Chestnut Street at Brook Street, citing near-miss accidents flagged by police and highway officials, and authorized Chairman Michael Costello to sign a deal with King Information Systems for a town clerk archive project. A regional planner from the Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District, Grant King, told the board that Rehoboth's subsidized housing stock stands at less than 1 percent of total units — far below the 10 percent Chapter 40B threshold — and estimated that roughly 370 to 400 additional affordable units would be needed to give the town meaningful control over future comprehensive permit applications.
