Board of Selectmen Approves $1.1M Fire Apparatus Purchase
Rehoboth Board of Selectmen commits to $1.1 million fire apparatus overhaul.
Board of Selectmen · Meeting of September 8, 2026
Rehoboth Board of Selectmen commits to $1.1 million fire apparatus overhaul. The board voted unanimously Tuesday to sign a purchase proposal for a custom pumper and light-duty rescue truck from Bulldog Apparatus, contingent on Special Town Meeting funding, after Fire Chief Peter said the department's 2008 Pierce engine has a frame that is "rotted" and its 1976 hazmat truck is no longer cost-effective to repair. Signing now locks in roughly a four-month delivery instead of the usual two years.
Separately, the board signed a three-year contract for Town Accountant Dawn Menard, credited with catching up the town's free-cash certification and fiscal 2026 audit, and reappointed Animal Control Officer Robert Johnson and Conservation Commission members Matthew L. Havishaw and Matthew Kershaw to new three-year terms. The board also approved warrants totaling $180,937.94.
