Board of Selectmen · Meeting of October 5, 2026

REHOBOTH — The Rehoboth Board of Selectmen accepted $1,486,637.69 in Chapter 90 highway reimbursement and continued a used-car dealer's license hearing to October 19. The board certified $3,285,896 in free cash for the special town meeting and accepted a $20,000 donation from Barney Avenue Investments LLC, arranged through John Ferreira, for Shady Bend renovations. Applicant Mario Lopo's proposed Victory Lane Motoring LLC dealership drew pointed questioning over repair work barred in the site's aquifer protection zone and over accountability for vehicle sales; one member said, "I won't vote for it if you're going to sell cars under someone else's name there." The board also awarded $54,500 in combined paving contracts to Ryan Ashfall Paving LLC and reduced early voting hours ahead of the November 3 election.

U.S. Rep. Jake Auchincloss's office has set an October 15 meeting on PFAS remediation funding for the town, which lacks a public water supply.
