Rehoboth Select Board Approves $160,000 Town Administrator Contract With Susan Pimentel

REHOBOTH — June 29, 2026 — Rehoboth Select Board hires Susan Pimentel as town administrator at $160,000 a year on a three-year contract. The board voted unanimously Monday to approve the agreement covering July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029, capping a search that drew 10 applicants and narrowed to three finalists interviewed by the full board. Selectman D.J. Vatney, who managed the search with colleague George Mills, said merging two previously separate positions would "save the town a considerable amount of money" without reducing services. The meeting also featured a fire department pinning ceremony recognizing Chief Peter Graves, two deputy chiefs, six captains, six lieutenants, and four firefighters, and the board voted to refer a zoning-violation case at 21 Winter Street to town counsel for court enforcement after the property owner failed to resolve the issue through administrative channels.
