Conservation Commission Issues Cease-and-Desist at 30 Star Lane After Compliance Failures

REHOBOTH — April 28, 2026 — Rehoboth's Conservation Commission issued a cease-and-desist enforcement order at 30 Star Lane and advanced permits for three properties at its April 28 meeting. A commissioner's site visit found that the owner of 30 Star Lane had pulled wetland-boundary stakes, installed no required hay bales or erosion controls, and submitted no restoration plan — despite a prior order issued in September and later lifted. The board voted unanimously to issue a new enforcement order and announced a commission site visit for May 10 at 9:15 a.m. Orders of conditions were also issued unanimously for 85 Mason Street and 205 Providence Street, while 195 Wheeler Street was continued to May 12 pending a DEP filing response. A proposal to install a clay-and-sand equestrian ring at the conservation-restricted Greer Farm, tied to the Rehoboth Agricultural Fair, drew public concern about invasive plants; resident Carol Enten of 105 Martin Street warned commissioners that disturbed soil "is easily populated by invasive plants," but the commission expressed general support pending written approval from Wildlands Trust steward Scott and a properly drafted site plan and narrative from the applicant.
